Advanced Baseball Instruction

Coach Derck was a great mentor. I truly valued his guidance and never doubted his coaching skills. His teaching skills went beyond the baseball field, his advice did not only make me a better baseball player but a better person off the field. He was a key figure in our team winning the 2021 state championship. My respect for him has grown into a great friendship.

I have had the privilege of being around Coach Derck for most of my High School career. He has provided me with support, both on and off the field. When it came to my schooling and baseball career, I was able to build a lot of connections that helped me guide me and my family in the right direction. He has a ton a knowledge in baseball and was able to help me improve in all aspects of my game. I look up to Coach Chad and his assistance on the field has resulted in huge amount of success. I was blessed to have won a state championship with him and he always gave me the upmost respect at all times. When working with Coach Derck, I found nothing but positive outcomes and was excited to learn something new. I learned a lot and improved with skills such as pitching and hitting. It was an honor to work with him and if you have this opportunity, I would not miss a chance to get better and work with someone who puts YOU in front of himself.

I first met Coach Derck when he became an assistant coach at Schuylkill Haven High School. Before meeting him, my swing was very inconsistent, with no real approach when I was at the plate. Coach Derck saw that I had a drive and will to improve and began to work with me. He helped me improve my swing by first optimizing my lower half mechanics. Together, we discussed and built an approach that worked best for my swing and where I hit the ball the hardest. Without Coach Derck’s extensive knowledge and help with hitting, I wouldn’t nearly be the player I developed into. Today I still reach out to Coach Derck for insight on my swing and approach.

So much has changed when it comes to coaching hitting since I played high school and college baseball. I was frustrated, knowing I wasn’t up to speed on all of the new, creative, and frankly more effective ways of teaching my son and his teammates how to hit a baseball. There are so many more effective ways to build a swing than knob through, elbow up and squish the bug. That stuff was okay when we played but the new ways to develop crushing swings are just so much better. Chad unlocked all of that for us. My kid loves him, his confidence is through the roof and the results are fun to watch.
